• Athletic Coaching Education

    • Earn professional certifications including American Red Cross CPR, AED, First Aid, WVSSAC Successful coaching, NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, NFHS Sports First Aid and the NFHS Concussion in Sports certification.

  • Physical Education Teacher Education

    Fast Facts:

    • Participate in and learn to teach outdoor adventure, lifetime leisure and team and individual sports and activities (e.g., archery, swimming, tennis, soccer, disc games)
    • Gain hands-on teaching experience with students with a variety of disabilities and special needs.
    • Our undergraduate Physical Education Teacher Education majors have posted a 100 percent passage rate on the Physical Education Content Specialization test during the past five years. More than 160 students have taken the PRAXIS II test.
    • Over 120 contact hours prior to student teaching.
  • Sport and Exercise Psychology

    Fast Facts:

    • WVU’s undergraduate SEP program is one of the few in the nation that allows students to specialize in sport and exercise psychology.
    • Due to our participation in the Academic Common Market, students from Ohio, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia may be eligible for in-state tuition.
    • Several of the courses in the curriculum can be used to meet requirements of the university’s general education program.
    • Through our major’s club, students have an opportunity to gain unique social and professional experiences outside of the classroom.
