Discovery Scuba Certification

Experience the Underwater World
WVU Lifetime Activities has partnered with Dive Tech and Sports to offer a Discovery Scuba Certification class. This course is the foundation for any scuba diving program. This certification course prepares you as a basic open water diver and allows you to scuba dive anywhere in the world accompanied with a current instructor. Should you choose to expand your recreational diving commitment to a more technical, or professional level, this fundamental course provides you with all of the necessary training to move on and further your diving experiences. Through classroom and pool sessions, this class gives participants the opportunity to practice skills and knowledge needed to be a safe and confident diver.
Pre-Requisite: 200 yard continuous swim and 10 minute rescue float

Location: All Classroom sessions held in the Health and Education Building Evansdale Campus CPASS Room 103
All pool sessions held at the Natatorium – Evansdale Campus
Dates: July 16 – August 6 (July 16, 23, 30 and August 4, 6)
Time: 7:00 – 10:00 p.m. (7-8 p.m. classroom and 8-10 p.m. pool)
Includes: materials for lecture and pool classes, Discovery Scuba Certification fees, use of equipment for all pool sessions (mask, snorkel, fins, BC, regulators).
