Aquatics – Summer 2014


Swim Lessons

Ages 5 – 15 years

This program is open to all levels (non-swimmers to advanced). Children will have their skills and abilities assessed the first class to assure proper level placement. Instructors teach basic strokes, safety skills, and other swimming techniques. Each class consists of 8 lessons.

For liability reasons, no one will be allowed on the pool deck unless enrolled in the class. No children are allowed in observation areas without an adult sitting with them. Physician’s health form required. Child must be 5 years of age by the start date of enrolled class. Minimum enrollment: 10; Maximum enrollment: 20

PARENT & CHILD AQUATICS

Basic Water Safety Skills

This class is to familiarize young children to the water and prepare them to learn to swim in the American Red Cross Preschool Aquatics and Learn-to-Swim courses. It is not designed to teach children to become good swimmers or to survive in the water on their own. An adult must get in the pool with the child.

Location: E. Moore Hall Pool (entrance on right side of building through garden gate)

Preschool Aquatics

Ages 3-4 years

The goal of this class is to orient preschool-age children to a water environment and help them to acquire age appropriate aquatic and swimming skills. An adult must get in the pool with the child.

Location: E Moore Hall Pool (entrance on right side of building through garden gate)

Water Aerobics∗

Ages:16 – Adult

This class involves a mixture of cardiovascular and toning exercises. In this class you can enjoy the same level of cardiovascular workout you get on land without the strain on your joints. Swimmers and non-swimmers welcome. Minimum enrollment: 10

Location: Natatorium Diving Pool ONLY
Days & Time: M / W / F 12:00 – 12:50 pm
Dates:May 19 – August 8 (No class May 26, July 4)
Fee: $80.00


Noon Swim at the Natatorium

Ages:16 – Adult

This program is designed to offer a free range of activities to the recreational swimmer. This is open to the public, faculty, staff, and students. Physician’s health form required.
Minimum enrollment: 10

Location: Natatorium racing pool ONLY
Days & Time: M / W / F 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
Dates: May 19 – August 8 (No class May 26, July 4)
Fee: $75


Adult Learn to Swim

Ages: 16 – Adults

This class is designed specifically for adults who never had the chance to learn to swim, or those who want to improve their technique. Beginner and intermediate levels welcome. Everyone is encouraged to go at their own pace in a supportive teaching environment. Class size is limited to 10 participants.

Dates: June 2 – June 25
Days & Time: Mondays & Wednesdays 6:00 – 6:50 pm Beginner (not able to swim)
Mondays & Wednesdays 7:00 – 7:50 pm Intermediate (familiar with strokes and skills)
Fee: $90.00


Aqualaties∗

Ages: Adult

This class is a combination of the toning exercises of Pilates and the stretching exercises of Tai Chi. Come in and enjoy a workout in our heated pool. This class is open to all fitness levels.

Day & Time: Mondays & Wednesdays 5:00 – 5:50 pm

Private Swim Lessons

Ages 5 – Adult

Learn-to- swim or improve your skills by getting individualized instruction built around your schedule. All lessons will be 55 minutes in length and must be scheduled by appointment.
Note: Lessons will not be scheduled until summer session begins May 19. Lesson must be scheduled in reasonable time frame and will expire 2 months from date of purchase.

Pool Parties

Have a pool party to celebrate your special event. All parties will have a certified lifeguard, use of the spectator/balcony area, locker rooms, and pool toys (noodles, kickboards, ect.). Includes up to 25 children.

  • Natatorium Pool (Evansdale Campus) or
  • E. Moore Hall Pool (Downtown Campus)

Fee: $200 ($100/hr minimum of 2 hours)

Set up and clean up times are 30 minutes before and after the party. * No inflatable devices are allowed in the pool. * All food must be kept in the spectator area. * All trash must be removed from pool deck and spectator area at end of the party. * Diving boards are not included.
