Aquatics – Summer 2015

Swim Lessons

Ages 5 – 15 years

This program is open to all levels (non-swimmers to advanced). Children will have their skills and abilities assessed the first class to assure proper level placement. Instructors teach basic strokes, safety skills, and other swimming techniques. Each class consists of 8 lessons.

For liability reasons, no one will be allowed on the pool deck unless enrolled in the class. No children are allowed in observation areas without an adult sitting with them. Child must be 5 years of age by the start date of enrolled class. Minimum enrollment: 10; Maximum enrollment: 20

Location: Natatorium Pool,
Time: 7:00 – 7:50 pm
Days: Monday through Thursday

Dates:

Class 1: May 18 – May 30 (No class May 25 – make up will be Fri, May 29)
Class 2: June 1 – June 11
Class 3: June 15 – June 26
Class 4: June 29 – July 9
Class 5: July 13 – July 23

Fee: $90 per class (8 lessons)


Water Aerobics∗

Ages: Adult

This class involves a mixture of cardiovascular and toning exercises. In this class you can enjoy the same level of cardiovascular workout you get on land without the strain on your joints. Swimmers and non-swimmers welcome. Minimum enrollment: 10

Location: Natatorium Diving Pool ONLY
Days & Time: M / W / F 12:00 – 12:50 p.m.
Dates: May 18 – July 31 (no class May 25 and July 3)
Fee: $90.00


Noon Swim

Ages: Adult

This program is designed to offer a free range of activities to the recreational swimmer. This is open to the public, faculty, staff, and students. Physician’s health form required. Min. enrollment: 10

Note: The No class dates are built into the schedule and do not require a make-up class. Make up classes will only be scheduled if classes get canceled due to weather or facility matters.

Location: Natatorium racing pool ONLY
Days & Time: M / W/ F 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
Dates: May 18 – July 31 (no class May 25 and July 3)
Fee: $75


Adult Learn to Swim

Ages: 16 – Adults

This class is designed specifically for adults who never had the chance to learn to swim, or those who want to improve their technique. Beginner and intermediate levels welcome. Everyone is encouraged to go at their own pace in a supportive teaching environment. Class size is limited to 10 participants.

Location: E Moore Hall Pool
Day & Time: M / W 6:00 – 6:50 p.m.
Dates:

Class1: June 1 – June 24
Class2: June 29 – July 22

Fee: $100 per class


Aqualaties∗

Ages: Adult

This class is a combination of the toning exercises of Pilates and the stretching exercises of Tai Chi. Come in and enjoy a workout in our heated pool. This class is open to all fitness levels.

Dates: June 1- July 22
Day & Time: M / W 5:00 – 5:50 p.m.
Fee: $60.00


PARENT & CHILD AQUATICS

Basic Water Safety Skills

6-18 months Basic Water Safety Classes are full – next session will begin registration in August

This class is to familiarize young children to the water and prepare them to learn to swim in the American Red Cross Preschool Aquatics and Learn-to-Swim courses. It is not designed to teach children to become good swimmers or to survive in the water on their own. An adult must get in the pool with the child. Max enrollment: 10

Location: E. Moore Hall Pool (entrance on right side of building through garden gate)
Level 1: Ages 6 – 18 months
Day & Time: Saturday 9:00 – 9:45 a.m.

Dates:
Class 1: May 30 – June 20
Class 2: June 27 – July 25(no class July 4)

Fee: $40.00 per class

Level 2: Ages 19 – 35 months
Day & Time: Saturdays 10:00 am – 10:45 a.m.

Dates:
Class 1: May 30 – June 20
Class 2: June 27 – July 25 (no class July 4)

Fee: $40.00 per class


Preschool Aquatics

Preschool aquatic classes are full – next session will begin registration in August.

Ages 3-4 years

The goal of this class is to orient preschool-age children to a water environment and help them to acquire age appropriate aquatic and swimming skills. An adult must get in the pool with the child.

Location: E Moore Hall Pool (entrance on right side of building through garden gate)
Day & Time: Saturdays 11:00 am – 11:45 a.m.

Dates:
Class 1: May 30 – June 20
Class 2: June 27 – July 25 (no class July 4)

Fee: $40.00 per class


Pool Parties

Have a pool party to celebrate your special event. All parties will have a certified lifeguard, use of the spectator/balcony area, locker rooms, and pool toys (noodles, kickboards, ect.). Includes up to 25 children.

Note: Pool parties will not be scheduled on university holidays, breaks, home football Saturdays, or finals week.

  • Natatorium Pool (Evansdale Campus) or
  • E. Moore Hall Pool (Downtown Campus)

Fee: $200 (2 hr party)

Set up and clean up times are 30 minutes before and after the party. * No inflatable devices are allowed in the pool. * All food must be kept in the spectator area. * All trash must be removed from pool deck and spectator area at end of the party. * Diving boards are not included.
