CPASS Faculty Contribute to new Publications at FiT
Professors Edward Etzel and Jack Watson have co-authored a chapter on ethics in
The New Sport and Exercise Psychology Companion, edited by Tony Morris and Peter Terry and published this summer by Fitness Information Technology (FiT). The 27 chapters in the Companion are authored by some of the most authoritative scholars in the world in their respective areas of research and the book is suitable for adoption in graduate courses or as a reference book for scholars and practitioners. Another book by FiT targeting a similar market is the newly published second edition of Training Professionals in the Practice of Sport Psychology by John Silva, Jonathan Metzler, and Bart Lerner.
FiT Down Under
Two of FiT’s most recent publications focus on the work of a pair of Australian scholars. Braham Dabscheck’s Reading Baseball is a reflection of the books, business, and personalities of America’s pastime. Daryl Adair’s edited collection, Sport, Race, and Ethnicity, examines sport as an arena for intergroup diversity and the negotiation of difference.
FiT Journals
The Sport Marketing Quarterly is celebrating its 20th anniversary. The most recent journal is a special issue on sales force management in sport, including leading studies on ticket sales in college athletics, experiential learning in sport sales, developing customer orientation in sales, and a look at developing a student rewards program in college basketball.
For a global perspective of players’ salaries, ticket sales, non-profit sports clubs and more sport financial topics, pick up the May 2011 issue of International Journal of Sport Finance. Contact FiT customer service about options for subscribing to FiT journals.
