John Gay received his B.S. degree from SUNY Buffalo, his M.A. degree from San Diego State, his Ed.D. degree from West Virginia University in Health Sciences Education, and completed Post Doctorate studies at John Hopkins Emory University. He served as a Naval Aviator (Captain) Pilot who flew F-14’s after which he served as an inactive reservist, and then retired from the Navy in 1992. Dr. Gay held the following academic positions after completing his education: Assistant Professor, Towson University; Associate Professor of Health Sciences, Louisiana State University; Professor and Dean, New Castle University, Australia; Professor and Chair of Health Sciences, Central Michigan University; Dean, College of Health, Education & Human Services, the University of Scranton; Director and Professor in Health Administration, Ohio University; and Director and Professor of Health Care Management, Troy University. During his career, he was responsible for over $6 million in grants, developed multiple programs, authored seven texts and over 100 articles. Dr. Gay was known for his expertise in strategic planning, and product consolidation. He retired in 2006 and now occasionally serves as a consultant for large health care systems relative to the elimination of waste and duplication. Dr. Gay resides in Lecanto, Florida.
