David S. Cohen, Esq. is General Counsel of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Tampa, FL. He is a licensed California attorney, Florida registered house counsel and a Certified Athletic Trainer. Cohen is a C-level executive responsible for handling legal and business terms of contracts, overseeing litigation and managing other aspects of the franchise. He directly oversees human resources, security and other functions for the Buccaneers. Cohen spent nine years overseeing legal for Angels Baseball LP and AM830 KLAA and nine years working as an athletic trainer for the Orioles, Red Sox and Expos. His Association Corporate Counsel peers named him a 2013 “Top 10 Thirty-Something” and the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society named him the “2001 Minor League Athletic Trainer of the Year.” He was a finalist for the 2014 and 2016 Tampa Bay Business Journal Top Corporate Counsel Award and is a member of the WVU College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences Hall of Fame.
Cohen earned a BS in Exercise Physiology/Athletic Training and an MS in Community Health Promotion from WVU. He also holds a JD from California Western School of Law. Cohen is a leader in the ACC as current chair of the sports and entertainment committee, and sits on the ACC’s West Central FL Chapter board. In the past, David served as the ACC-SoCal Chapter vice president. Cohen, his wife Audria, and their son Ethan currently reside in Tampa, FL.
